"One Year B.C."

by Mark Buerschaper

about

"One Year B.C." is the title cut from my latest album. It touches upon the isolation and confinement that was prevalent during the Covid - 19 epidemic.

lyrics

I remember drinking beer
In a favorite pub
With nothing to fear
Yelling and having
A good old time
In the days before
Being confined

It was one year B.C.

I remember playing shows
Practicing the week before
Now my entertainment consists
Of going to the grocery store

It was one year B.C.

Who would have thought you couldn't breathe the air without wearing a mask?
Who would have thought that liberty and safety were a politician's task?

I remember drinking beer
In a favorite pub
With nothing to fear
Yelling and having
A good old time
In the days before
Being confined

It was one year B.C., yeah, it was one year B.C.

The album features the full gamut of his style which runs from introspective folk to novelty and alternative indie genres. Much of the commentary is about perceived social norms. ... more
