You Know The Drill

about

We have pills for everything. We have people that rely on pills and will do anything to get them. Pills can cost a lot of money. These things went through my head as I wrote this song.

lyrics

I got my aches and I have my pains
Some act up just before the rain
I'm very adverse to feeling negatively
It's time to seek an appointment with my m.d.

Hey doc give me some brand new pills
I need them now or  I never will
Tell me the prescription can be filled
Call the pharmacy you know the drill

These days I don't even need a drink
My pills tell me exactly, how to think
It's much more costly, but I pay the price
With FDA approval I'm going to roll the dice

So what had been done in the olden days
Before we lost our checks after the payday
Nevermind the cost or the side effects
Both should be easy to neglect.

I guess they will always be around
To bring you up or bring you down
And if there is a frown on your m.d.
Your insurance card expired a bit early

The album features the full gamut of his style which runs from introspective folk to novelty and alternative indie genres. Much of the commentary is about perceived social norms. ... more
