When Gold Turns To Tin

by Mark Buerschaper

/

about

So, my wife took an out of state job that paid well, but was treated fairly poorly. Neither of us cared for the situation but at least I got a song out of it. : )

lyrics

Where was the dream?
Was it abandoned?
Did it go and melt in the springtime sun?

A monetary killing
Was the motive
For a long time spent very far away

I'll be waiting when the storms roll in
I'll be waiting when the gold turns to tin

Money can buy a bright, rosy future
But it can't replace the here and now
To feel defeated and have it repeated
Was the unseen interest to be paid

The album features the full gamut of his style which runs from introspective folk to novelty and alternative indie genres. Much of the commentary is about perceived social norms. ... more
